Having a not-quite-right home studio situation can be an obstacle to your consistent practice. Make it easy to take class regularly by perfecting your set-up!
1. flex your tech
You should never have to crane your neck to see your screen, so it’s important to elevate & angle your device for easy viewing from the mat. Here are some useful & inexpensive tools:
STOOL: If you don’t have a low coffee table, a simple stool is useful to put a desktop or laptop at the right height.
LAPTOP STAND: Even with your laptop at the right elevation, you’ll have to lift your head to see the bottom of the screen, but a basic laptop stand is an easy fix.
2. Sacred Space
If you want to be religious about your Pilates practice, you need a dedicated space! If you have to move furniture in order to exercise, it most likely won’t happen.
If there’s a spacious corner where the mat can stay out, it will serve as an invitation. Even if you need to roll the mat up between sessions, you know where it goes. And how can you make that dedicated space more attractive, a place you really want to be?
And how can you store all your props so that the space is uncluttered but everything is readily available?
